The donation ceremony of the Harbin Institute of Technology Education Development Foundation took place on September 15th in Room 620 of the Main Building. Zong Runfu, the Chairman and President of Shenyang Xinyuan Microelectronics Equipment Co., Ltd., and an alumnus of the Class of 1981 in Industrial Electrical Automation, as well as the President of the Harbin Institute of Technology Shenyang Alumni Association, personally contributed 1 million RMB to support the development and construction of the School of Electrical Engineering. Additionally, the company donated another 1 million RMB to establish the Harbin Institute of Technology Xinyuan Microelectronics Scholarship. Before the donation ceremony, Xiong Sihao, the Party Secretary and Chairman of the Harbin Institute of Technology Education Development Foundation, had a meeting with Zong Runfu and his delegation.
During the meeting, Zong Runfu shared the company’s progress and the achievements of the Shenyang Alumni Association, expressing gratitude for the education he received at his alma mater. He emphasized that he has always held onto the motto of Harbin Institute of Technology, “Strictest Standards, Earnest Endeavors,” and continuously strived to contribute to the school’s development. Inspired by General Secretary Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Harbin Institute of Technology, Zong Runfu pledged to remain committed to his mission of building a strong nation, focusing on technological innovation, expanding the company, and bringing new glory to his alma mater on their new journey.
Xiong Sihao acknowledged Zong Runfu and the Shenyang Alumni Association for their consistent support and care towards the school’s development over the years, playing a key role in advancing the institution into a new era. He expressed his hopes that Zong Runfu, along with his company, would concentrate on breakthroughs in core technologies, drive industrial innovation through technological advancement, strengthen the integration of industry and education, and make significant contributions to the overall revitalization of Northeast China in the new era. The university pledged to effectively utilize the donations to enhance student growth, and establish a platform for alumni and the alma mater to communicate and exchange ideas, ultimately creating a better future.
During the ceremony, Sun Xue, Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Harbin Institute of Technology Education Development Foundation, presented donation awards and certificates to Zong Runfu and Shenyang Xinyuan Microelectronics Equipment Co., Ltd.
Representatives and officials from the Education Development Foundation, Alumni Office, and School of Electrical Engineering, as well as Xie Jiayi, Deputy Minister of the Human Resources Department of Shenyang Xinyuan Microelectronics Equipment Co., Ltd., Huang Xiuyu, Deputy Chief Engineer of Huadian Liaoning Energy Co., Ltd., an alumni from the Class of 1987 in Power Systems and Automation, and Vice President of the Harbin Institute of Technology Shenyang Alumni Association, were in attendance.
