On the afternoon of February 6, Dean Ye Xuerong and Vice Dean Yu Guodong led a delegation to Huairou Laboratory for research and exchange. Pang Hui, Assistant Director of Huairou Laboratory, attended the discussion.
Ye Xuerong systematically introduced the development history, talent cultivation, and research progress of the School of Electrical Engineering. He pointed out that as the "chain leader" unit of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in the field of new power systems, the School of Electrical Engineering aims to collaborate with Huairou Laboratory in the areas of smart electricity consumption and future energy. By leveraging HIT's research strengths in disciplines such as electrical engineering, aerospace, mechanics, materials, artificial intelligence, and energy, and deeply integrating the unique regional characteristics of the "cold region," they seek to extend the advantages of aerospace and defense technology into the power and energy sector. Together, they plan to identify major needs for the "15th Five-Year Plan," form a synergy in tackling key scientific research challenges and cultivating high-end talent, and jointly support the implementation of national strategies in the energy field.
Assistant Director Pang Hui provided a detailed overview of the core positioning and open collaboration ecosystem of Huairou Laboratory as a national strategic scientific force. He stated that the laboratory places great emphasis on collaborative innovation with universities and hopes to precisely align with the direction of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system, jointly refining major scientific issues and planning new technological growth points.
Going forward, both sides will leverage their respective strengths to further exchange and coordinate, accelerating the implementation of specific cooperation topics.
