In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the school's "leadership team retreat" and scientifically plan the development blueprint of the 15th Five-Year Plan, on January 28th, 2026, the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation held a professor meeting to discuss the development plan of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The meeting was chaired by the Dean, Professor Ye Xuerong.
The meeting first reviewed the leap-forward development achievements of the college during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The participants agreed that in the past five years, the College has made historical breakthroughs in the fields of Party building, ideological and political, discipline building, teaching and research, talent introduction and international cooperation, and achieved remarkable results in discipline evaluation, and significantly enhanced its international influence. The meeting deeply analyzed the current situation and challenges faced by the College, accurately identified the existing gaps and shortcomings, and on this basis, further clarified the development goals, key tasks and implementation paths during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
Focusing on the draft plan, the experts participating in the meeting held a lively and in-depth discussion. It is generally believed that the complete planning system, lofty goals and pragmatic measures not only show the enterprising spirit of "jumping up and touching high", but also firmly base on the actual development of the college. The members also put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions based on their own research direction and the overall development of the college, focusing on key topics such as the cutting-edge layout of disciplines, the introduction of top talents echelon, and the tackling of national platforms and awards.
This professor's meeting will brainstorm and build consensus, which will point out the direction for the planning and compilation work. The College will carefully study and fully absorb the insights of members, further revise and improve the plan, and effectively enhance its scientificity, forward-looking and operability. In his concluding speech, Ye Xuerong emphasized that the "15th Five-Year Plan" period is a crucial stage for the college to sprint to the goal of "China's top and world-class". The whole hospital should anchor its goals, emancipate its minds, be upright and innovative, and move forward with determination, and take strong actions to transform the planning blueprint into a vivid practice of high-quality development, so as to contribute electrical strength to helping the school to build a world-class university in an all-round way!
