On April 13, Ye Xuerong, Dean of the School of Electric Power, led a team to the General Institute of Electric Power Planning and Design (hereinafter referred to as the General Institute of Electric Power Planning) for investigation and exchange. Zhang Jian, Vice President of the General Institute of Electric Power Planning, presided over the exchange symposium.
Zhang Jian introduced the development of the General Institute of Electric Power Regulation and pointed out that the Institute took the lead in assuming responsibility for the “chain-length” role in the new energy storage industry chain; it united with State Grid, power generation groups, and other leading forces to coordinate research on key technologies and implementation of engineering applications, and shared Guangdong’s mature practices in the electricity spot market. He noted that the School of Electric Power at Harbin Institute of Technology has achieved outstanding scientific research results and expressed anticipation for establishing a strategic cooperation mechanism between the two sides—using major projects as a nexus—to deepen collaboration in planning, scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation, achievement transformation, standard formulation, and other areas, thereby jointly providing robust intellectual and technical support for the high-quality construction of major projects.
Ye Xuerong systematically introduced the developmental background, scientific research achievements, and talent cultivation outcomes of the School of Electrical Engineering. He emphasized that the General Institute of Electric Power Regulation serves as a vital intellectual pillar for China’s new-era energy system and functions as an important platform for efficiently translating high-quality, practice-oriented achievements from universities into national policies and major projects. He expressed hope that both sides would deepen industry–university–research integration by leveraging major national projects, fully utilize the talent and scientific research advantages of electrical engineering disciplines, take national energy policy as guidance and electrical energy technology as support, advance the high-quality development of the General Institute of Electric Power Regulation, and comprehensively promote the high-standard, high-quality construction of major projects.
Yu Guodong, Deputy Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, and Duan Jiandong, Assistant to the Dean, attended the exchange. Xu Ying, Professor Li Binbin, Associate Professor Fan Fulin, and Engineer Zhou Honglei—Directors of the Institute of Power Systems—delivered technical exchange reports.
Zeng Desen, Assistant to the President of the General Institute of Electric Power Regulation; He Rui, General Manager of Zhongneng Zhixin Company; Zhang Tao, Vice President of the Power Grid Consulting Institute; Li Zhenjie, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Innovation Research Institute; Ning Kanghong, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Electric Power Research Institute; Chen Haiyan, Director of the Second Power Grid Division of the Power Grid Consulting Institute; Xiong Haoqing, Deputy Chief Engineer of Zhongneng Zhixin Company; Shen Qianfeng, General Manager of the Integrated Innovation Department of Zhongneng Zhixin Company; and Zhou Chunyu, Deputy Director of the Electrical Department of the Major Engineering Division—attended the discussion.
