On March 27, Yu Min, Director of the Observation and Network Department at the Heilongjiang Meteorological Bureau, and Ruan Duo, Chief Staff Member, visited the hospital for an exchange and discussion. The symposium was chaired by Dean Ye Xuerong. Vice President Yu Guodong; Professor Yang Dazhi; Assistant Researcher Liu Bai; and Dr. Wang Zhiwen attended the discussion and exchange.
Yu Min expressed gratitude to the college for its warm reception and highly commended the college’s research accumulation and talent advantages in meteorology-related fields. She comprehensively introduced the functional system and business structure of the Observation and Network Department at the Heilongjiang Meteorological Bureau and highlighted the critical role of meteorological observation in the “sky–ground integrated” observation system. She expressed hope that both sides would take this exchange as a starting point to conduct substantive cooperation in technical R&D and talent cultivation—particularly in space weather monitoring, localization of AI-powered meteorological large models, and power–meteorology collaborative disaster prevention—and jointly enhance meteorological observation capabilities to support national disaster prevention and mitigation and climate change response.
At the symposium, Ye Xuerong, on behalf of the college, extended a warm welcome to Yu Min and her delegation and briefly introduced the college’s development history and scientific research achievements. He emphasized that accurate meteorological observation is vital to national production and livelihood. The School of Electrical Engineering has developed distinctive strengths in solar energy forecasting, meteorological observation data processing and application, and related technologies. Through this exchange, the college looks forward to further deepening pragmatic cooperation with the Heilongjiang Provincial Meteorological Bureau, advancing the construction of provincial- and national-level platforms, and jointly promoting the high-quality development of the meteorological cause.
