On March 28, the School of Electrical Engineering and the School of New Energy at Weihai Campus, Harbin Institute of Technology, held a seminar on the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Electrical Engineering Discipline. Ye Xuerong, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, introduced the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Electrical Engineering Discipline—covering the “one school, three campuses” framework—to Cai Chunwei, Dean of the School of New Energy at Weihai Campus, and relevant faculty members.  

First, Ye Xuerong commended the achievements in scientific research and teaching made by the Electrical Engineering Discipline at Weihai Campus’s School of New Energy. He then systematically elaborated the overall plan for the Electrical Engineering Discipline across the “one school, three campuses” structure, addressing guiding principles, development goals, key tasks, and core initiatives.  

Ye Xuerong emphasized that the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–2025) is a critical stage for the school to achieve high-quality development and advance toward world-class university status. He stressed that the Electrical Engineering Disciplines across the “one school, three campuses” must align with national strategic priorities and regional socioeconomic development needs; deepen coordination and synergy; and jointly promote the connotative, high-quality, and integrated development of the discipline.  

Cai Chunwei expressed full support for the 14th Five-Year Plan development framework for the Electrical Engineering Discipline under the “one school, three campuses” model. He noted that the Electrical Engineering Discipline at Weihai Campus has established a solid foundation and robust development scale, and affirmed its commitment to further strengthening coordination with the Harbin headquarters and Shenzhen Campus. Priority areas for enhanced collaboration include undergraduate talent cultivation, faculty recruitment, scientific research, and joint construction of research platforms—thereby comprehensively advancing coordinated, high-quality development of the Electrical Engineering Discipline across all three campuses.
