In order to further broaden the international academic horizons of young students and deepen the academic cooperation between China and Russia in the frontier field of electrical engineering, from March 23rd to 27th, under the organization of the graduate school, Wang Yanmin and Hong Shinan led 10 doctoral students to the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Irkutsk National ResearchTechnical University (INRTU) for academic exchange visits.

On 23 March, the delegation went to the School of Energy of INRTU for exchange. Dean Samarkina Ekaterina introduced the discipline layout, organizational structure, major setting of the university, and the collaborative education model of industry-university-research. Professor Vladislav Shakirov introduced the research progress of the institute in the field of new energy, and had in-depth exchanges on the construction of experimental platforms and the direction of scientific research cooperation.

On March 24, the delegation went to the Institute of Energy Systems of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for exchange. Led by Professor Alexander Kozlov, the delegation visited the laboratory to learn more about the research progress and platform construction in the field of bioenergy. Professor Evgeny Barakhtenko introduced the overview of the institute, focusing on the cooperation achievements and future plans between the Sino-Russian Joint Research Center for Advanced Energy and Power System and the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation of Harbin Institute of Technology, and gave a special report on the application of digital twin technology in new energy systems. Professors Aleksandr Domyshev and Alexander Kozlov share the latest achievements in power system software development and bioenergy utilization.

From March 25th to 26th, the delegation went to the Baikal BRICS Institute of INRTU to attend the Sino-Russian Youth Academic Forum on "Energy Management and Comparison of Sino-Russian Resources". Professor Nikita Tomin and Professor Vladislav Shakirov gave special presentations on cutting-edge directions such as smart energy management of active distribution network and multi-energy access under the framework of "city-grid". Subsequently, the delegation visited the outdoor power system training base to learn about the teaching experience of engineering training. At the same time, doctoral students conducted academic exchanges with Russian doctoral students, showing the vigorous vitality of young electrical students.

The academic exchange visit consolidated the professional foundation of students, improved their academic research and cross-cultural communication skills, broadened their scientific research horizons, and made the students more clear about their responsibilities and responsibilities in promoting global energy transformation and sustainable development. In the future, the school will promote the effective transformation of exchange results into scientific research results, continue to deepen the fields of new energy and smart grid, and contribute electrical strength to the academic exchange and scientific research innovation.
